Academic path
After completing banking training, Jan-Hendrik Meier studied business administration at the University of Hamburg with a focus on investment banking, insurance management and finance. He completed his doctorate at the University of Bremen with a focus on finance and accounting.
Professional stages
He gained professional experience with leading auditing and consulting firms, including in the areas of risk management for banks and mergers & acquisitions.
Research & education
As a professor of accounting at Kiel University of Applied Sciences, he teaches, among other things, empirical capital market research. He is also a member of the doctoral college in Schleswig-Holstein and teaches at ISET University in Tbilisi and the University of Lodz. His research includes capital market research, accounting research, and applications of artificial intelligence.

Jan is a passionate golfer and enthusiastic cook. In his free time, he likes to travel — always looking for new cultures, perspectives and culinary discoveries.
