Michael Meser studied business administration at Pforzheim University, ESC Dijon and Humboldt University in Berlin. Afterwards, he completed his doctorate in empirical capital market research at the University of Bremen. He is now a professor of financial management and financial accounting at Fresenius University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg.

Michael gained his practical experience at Ernst & Young in the area of corporate restructuring and at Deloitte in Hamburg, where he worked in IFRS Advisory Services. The interface between science and practice continues to shape his consulting work on IFRS issues and annual financial statements audits.

As the author of numerous scientific contributions on valuation, financing and accounting, he combines well-founded research with tangible practical relevance. He also likes to share his passion for scientific issues as part of reviewing doctoral studies.

In his free time, Michael likes to be active — whether playing soccer, snowboarding or running. As a passionate traveler, he likes to discover new cultures and places off the beaten track.
